About this calculator

What is SROI?

Social Return on Investment (SROI) is a framework for measuring the wider social, environmental, and economic value of an activity, relative to the investment made. An SROI of £4 means £4 of social value is created for every £1 invested.

What are deadweight and attribution?

Deadweight is the proportion of outcomes that would have happened anyway without your intervention. Attribution is the share of outcomes that should be credited to other organisations or factors that also contributed. Both must be applied in a credible SROI — ignoring them inflates your ratio.

Why is this only illustrative?

This calculator applies a single average proxy value to your entire outcome category, with no stakeholder evidence, no sensitivity testing, and no independent assurance. Real SROI requires all of these. The ratio here could be materially different from a properly conducted analysis.

What does a full assessment include?

The Social Value Engine platform guides you through a complete, accredited SROI analysis: stakeholder engagement, evidence-based proxy selection, deadweight and attribution assessment, sensitivity analysis, and a transparent audit trail linking every figure to its source.
