Co-Founder & Social Value Consultant

Ivan invented the Social Value Engine. He runs a social business which focuses on planning things, doing things and measuring whether they have happened. He has worked in economic development for over 30 years. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Economic Development and a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Lincoln International Business School.

Claire Watts

Claire Watts

Director of Economic Development, East Riding of Yorkshire Council

Claire is the Director of Economic Development and Communications for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. She has spent nearly 20 years leading local authority regeneration and funding activity, with a clear focus on creating impact and changing lives for the better. Prior to this she spent 10 years working within the Voluntary and Community Sector developing and leading community economic development and shills programmes and organisations. She is a co founder of the Social Value Engine.

Jane Mann

Jane Mann

Operations Director

Jane qualified as a public sector accountant and worked in various finance and business transformation roles in Local Government. She then joined an ERP practice, undertaking both pre-sales and project delivery. She helped clients develop business cases and design a framework for benefits realisation. Jane has also worked for one of the “Big Four” management consultancy practices as a Senior Manager, primarily supporting client decision making in specification, selection and implementation of finance, procurement, HR and payroll solutions. Jane recently joined the Social Value Engine team with a remit to help improve our business processes.

Rab Campbell

Growth Director

Rab is responsible for growing the use of the SVE and creating a vibrant user community that influences its future development. He is a multi-decade experienced digital professional and has served as the elected chair of the trade body in Scotland, ScotlandIS. He has worked in a variety of leadership roles in large corporations and digital start-ups. Rab is a strong supporter of "tech for good", in particular empowering disadvantage young people to use tech effectively to live fulfilling lives.

Sean Inglis

Sean Inglis

Growth Manager

Sean has over 20 years software sales experience. His first exposure to social value was whilst working for The Homeless World Cup Charity, who use football as a catalyst for improving the lives of those experiencing homelessness. In this role he forged strong relationships with several 'tech for good' organisations and this cemented his belief in the potential value of technology in improving people's lives in a really meaningful way. His current role focuses on growing our user ecosystem and increasing the adoption of the Social Value Engine.

Maddie Kortenaar

Maddie Kortenaar

Marketing Director & Social Value Practitioner

Maddie has worked with public and private sector organisations for over 20 years, and is passionate about applying technology to enable positive change in society. Maddie supports the team in aligning with customers and their needs. She is a Level 1 Accredited Social Value Practitioner. Originally from the Netherlands, Maddie moved to Scotland a decade ago, and currently resides in Fife.

Conor McGale

Conor McGale

Evaluation and Impact Manager & Social Value Practitioner

Conor works with organisations on the island of Ireland in helping them measure their Social Value, irrespective of the size or type of organisation. He has nearly 30 years of Project Management, Evaluation and Strategic Planning experience in a wide range of industries. He has also worked with a number of key funders in evaluating their programmes and groups they support. Conor is a firm advocate of the Community & Voluntary sector’s work, particularly how organisations can demonstrate their impact & effectiveness working with some of the most disadvantaged communities and client groups in today’s society.

Jonathan Turner

Customer Success Manager

Jon has over 30 years’ experience working in the public, private and voluntary and community sector in the SW of England. Jon has managed multi-million -pound projects and programmes in partnership with public, private and community organisations. Whilst working as a project manager for a large city council Jon was responsible to ensure that social value was incorporated into the council’s procurement practices. When working for a local authority in Devon Jon setup a countryside charity which supported long term unemployed and people with mental health challenges to gain access to employment in the countryside, the charity is now in its 31st year! His current role focusses the renewals process, supporting existing customers and growing the customer base.

Helena Moss

Regeneration and Funding Group Manager, East Riding of Yorkshire Council

Helena joined East Riding of Yorkshire Council in 2007 and has managed and led multi-million-pound projects & programmes as well as forged vital relationships and partnerships with organisations and businesses. Helena is responsible for the Council's Regeneration & Funding Service which includes wider Economic Development strategy & policy and the delivery of inclusive economic growth. With a strong background working in the community and voluntary sector Helena has vast experience & expertise in economic & social inclusion.

Programme Funding Coordinator & Social Value Practitioner, East Riding of Yorkshire Council

Jennifer Jefferson, Programme Funding Coordinator, specialises in supporting various community groups in navigating the Social Value process. With her background in the private sector and expertise in social impact in the social housing sector, Jennifer plays a crucial role in incorporating social value practices within the council. Her status as a level one accredited practitioner from Social Value UK underlines her dedication to fostering positive community change.

Andrea Turton, the Local Growth Programme Manager at the council since 2006, has been pivotal in managing cross-sector partnerships and embedding social value within the council’s services. Her role in developing initiatives around community wealth and cost of living, and managing the social value team, highlights her commitment to integrating social value into public service.
