Social Value Engine

AI-Enabled, Human-Led: A New Chapter for the Social Value Engine

We’re entering an exciting new era at the Social Value Engine, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next.

Our mission has always been to provide organisations with an independent, transparent, and ethically-driven way to measure their social value. Now, we’re taking that mission further by introducing AI-supported features designed to make your experience even more intuitive, insightful, and efficient, without replacing the human expertise that is at the heart of social value measurement.

Smarter support with the Wizard and Chatbot

Soon, when you use our Wizard interface, the AI will be there to suggest relevant proxies and help refine your outcome definitions, enabling you to move from draft to well-structured, evidence-backed reporting more quickly. The result is faster, clearer, and more accurate outputs that free you up to spend more time where it matters most: delivering positive impact in your communities. This gives you an extra layer of support so you can be confident that your reports are as strong and relevant as possible.

We’re also introducing an AI-powered chatbot, ready to answer your questions about social value in real time. Whether you’re looking for practical guidance on an outcome, clarification on a proxy, or an example from a similar context, the chatbot will be there to assist.

Looking ahead: expanding the role of AI

Looking further ahead, our ambition is to develop the AI so that it can identify new, relevant proxies beyond our current validated list. This would open the door to measuring an even broader spectrum of social impacts, enabling your organisation to capture and showcase the full richness of the positive contributions you and your partners deliver. In doing so, we aim to empower you with tools that keep pace with the evolving landscape of social value, while remaining grounded in trusted and transparent data.

AI will never replace human insight, creativity, or decision-making. Social value is, at its core, about people and their lived experiences, and no algorithm can fully replicate that. Our AI is here to support you. It is trained only on publicly available and validated social value data, not on your personal or organisational data. And, of course, you will always have the option to opt out of AI entirely.

Explore and learn more

We’re incredibly excited about what this means for the future of the Social Value Engine and for all of you who use it to drive positive change. This is about combining the best of technology with the irreplaceable value of human judgement. Together, they can help you tell your impact story more clearly, more convincingly, and with even greater reach.
